Earl Boykins Traded to Bucks, Blake Fitting In Well As A Nugget

The trade has been a done deal for a while now, but Earl Boykins is now a Buck. He had been playing very well with Iverson before the trade, but Denver was able to save money by trading him. Also, the trio of Iverson, Melo, and JR Smith would have cut Boykins ball handling time down considerably. I think it was a good move for the Bucks to get a special player like Boykins. He’s an offensive catalyst.
Steve Blake is not. But he has that pass first mentality that will complement Iverson and Melo’s need for the rock. Actually, its more like pass first quickly–Blake doesnt need to spin into the lane and dish it to a big man. And if he can bring up his shooting percentag to the 37.7 beyond the arc form he had before Milwalkee (it was hoving near 29% there), then we may be seeing a nice run by the Nuggets come playoff time.

Chris Webber…Is A Sweet Man

No really, he is. I just listened to the TNT trio interview him at half time of the Nets - Bulls game, and he seems like a great guy, really genuine. He said he wants to play with good players, that he has a high bball IQ and passing skills to offer, and even offered the idea of playing Center. But as high as his basketball IQ is, which is great, the problem is at 33 (Date of Birth: March 1, 1973) he jumps as high as me , and I’m 5′9″ and white.
Is it too early to hang up the jersey for Chris Webber? Perhaps it is too early, but the league is getting much faster, and watching Webber make a drive to the basket is almost as horrible as watching Antoine Walker make a sorry move to the right. Almost.
But if I was GM, I wouldn’t trade for him. And if it is true that Isaiah Thomas and the Knicks are in on discussions, I will have finally lost faith in Isaiah—the only reason I still like him is his bad boy years remind me of my style of play–undersize all heart.
I do wish Chris Webber the best in his endeavors. Here is another article about the situation, in the New York Times.
